They won't. The delusion runs as deep as the wallets in this area. |
Why is it so important to you to let everyone know that they're wasting their time and money? you obviously don't have a child playing in the ECNL playoffs, so why are you here? If you do, then there is a deeper question that needs to be answered, if the DMV is so inferior why do you continue to pay? |
Keep counting other people's money |
It is not delusion. That you think so means you are not involved. ECNL is a college recruiting leauge. Going to Nationals is part of that process so that you can be seen. Are more coaches at top end games rather than Showcase B -- maybe by a bit. But it matters not. Just that you are there. You have contact with coaches. They come see you. That is the point. Wins are great. Certainly don't hurt. But are not required. You may say the top colleges will take girls from the top teams. Sure. But the 8th girl on Solar may not be better than the best girls on VDA. Almost every ECNL girl on every team will play in college if they want to. Not all for UNC or Stanford but all will have a shot. So no people will not get tired when Showcase A and B teams have tons of coaches a game looking at specific players. There were over 1000 coaches at Playoffs. |
A fool and his money are soon parted. Maybe stop chugging the ECNL koolaid and check out SYC. If you’re never going to beat the big west coast ECNL teams change leagues and get noticed. |
Not PP but we cannot in this area compete as a team against Texas and California. So what? We never will. So what. That is not the point. No one pasys for ECNL thinking they will win a chamionship, not even the Texas and California teams. |
You are not making sense. The worst teams in Showcase B had hundreds of coaches looking at them. The exposure on those teams is greater than GA can provide. |
Nope, clubs like San Diego Surf expect to win nationals every year. They do it by beating Union 10-0 |
The same coaches attend both ECNL and GA events. The one thing that ECNL clubs generally have over GA is their DOCs have more connections into colleges because they’ve been doing it longer. Which is ridiculous that DOcs hold the keys to players playing in college. Unfortunately is what it is. |
Yet SYC gets beat down by almost every ECNL age group in the DMV…you have to go all the way to the 2013 age group to see a competitive team. Oh, btw, Mid Atlantic GA hasn’t done to well in CALIFORNIA this time around either except for FCV which is dead. VRSC will probably wipe the floor with SYC since they took most of the FCV players. Have a great day! |
We need our best athletes in the DMV playing, but they are playing other sports. Imagine if Kevin Durant and Caleb Williams played soccer! We would need to rent a U-Haul to bring back all of the ECNL hardware!!! |
No one at SYC parent/coach who is just starting their GA program believes this or would ever suggest this so please just stop. Your trolling yourself as this point. Cause if your kid played you wouldn't be so incsecure banging away on the keys. My guess is this curent troll is banging their head in line for the space needle wondering if their kid will ever see the field and not seeing a return on their ECNL investment. Find a different league/team and move on, don't want you on any of the SYC teams. |
Pros-Pro Troll is out today...Kevin Durant would be so good at soccer, right.... go away troll! |
The girls have to be great/very good and perform in front of the coaches. You can post and tweet and email coaches all you want and that's fine...gotta be good, gotta play good while they are watching or standout and surprise coaches that didn't come to watch your daughter play. The rest of it really doesn't matter. It's expensive to go to Seattle and lose 3 games and have your daughter not playing well for sure, but that doesn't mean it's a waste of money. Again, have realistic goals based on the type of player your daughter is makes things easier vs. the parents that can't handle it when their daughter hits the wall and doesn't reach the goals you have as a parent...which for well off DMV families is UVA, Duke, ND, Stanford etc. Also for all of these people posting that DMV teams don't stack up against Surf, Solar, PDA etc. that's because miserable parents club hop their daughters every year when they don't get what they want and Mclean, Bethesda and a few surrounding clubs COMPETE with each other. The clubs are too close together and good players on teams leave every year because it's easy to switch. |
The reason you can't beat West Coast teams is because you look at soccer as a gladiator sport where if you can recruit the biggest and fastest players you will win. This is not how it works at the highest levels. An above average physical team can beat track stars day in and day out by playing as a team. What's happening in the New England area is if you want to dominate locally you just recruit biggest and fastest. This brings local wins, keeps coaches employed, and parents paying. However this is not good soccer and doesn't work against better teams. What's interesting is someone should be able to put together a possession team with reasonable physical talent and dominate. I'm surprised it hasn't happend yet. It's probably because everyone is so keys into results everyone is locked into a specific type of play. |
