Lunchables will no longer be on the menu at schools around the United States. Kraft Heinz, the company that produces Lunchables, announced Tuesday that it will remove the meal kits from the National School Lunch Program. Apparently sodium levels among other things found to be too high. Really, it took them this long to realize?? |
| What is RFK going to do to school lunches?? |
| Can students buy only ice cream but not get the whole meal? |

FYI About school meal calendar:
Starting January 2025, PDF menus will no longer be available. MealViewer will have all menu information. |
Probably nothing, but, hopefully, get more animal products and whole foods in them. |
At our school, yes. |
| Are elementary school menus different by schools? As posters have claimed as an example, Bethesda schools have better options than schools in Silver Spring. |
Define better. |
No the menus are not different by school. They are different by level(ES vs Secondary). The menus can change occasionally if something happens like a shortage. |
| Is mcps going to face a shortage with state of current events? |
Call your school to ask. At my school, that request would be accommodated, at least for a short period of time. |
| Will they consider adding a food if PTAs suggest it? |
| Our kid's MS used to have cookies that were apparently really good and much desired. This year I am told there is no dessert in sight. Confused kid? Policy change? |
| P.S. Not that I have a problem with no dessert! 😅 |
| Why shouldn't students get a dessert? Geez, is this part of MAHA? |
