is this a joke?

No - I thought you weren't supposed to look at eclipses without the glasses. Obviously can't wear the glasses driving even if I had them.

How often do you stare at the sun while driving? Good lord.

You asked if you could drive without eclipse glasses and if you can go outside. You didn't ask if you could look at the eclipse. Do you drive with your eyes staring up at the sky? WITW?

currently dark yellow where I am. No glasses needed.

I don’t get the fascination AT ALL. It’s dark and cold. Like it’s been the last few months.

I mean I was a grump about it too but a neighbor gave us all glasses just now. Sun looks very cool with the glasses on. Otherwise looks like a sun blob with the glare and jut a little dark out.

I wasn't into it at first. Spouse found glasses and was able to meet me to look at it together. Our neighbors were outside too. I felt connection that so many people were doing the same thing at the same time. I liked the experience more than I thought I would!

Same here. Our neighborhood kids and adults got together and we all had a blast.

It was a nice moment but think while viewing parties were overkill. It's fun though think of the physical mechanics but the eclipse itself was like "ok, cool." It didn't change my life.

It was amazing, very sweet and glorious but that is probably due to a perfect natural location. Not earth shaking but definitely lovely.

I’m the poster from a few pages back who is in Niagara Falls for totality. Definitely worth it. Yes, there were clouds but the clouds filtered the harsh sun so there were times when you could look up and see what is happening. Other times, we needed glasses.

Anytime the clouds cleared, there was a cheer from crowd. There was a cheer during totality. It was cool seeing it suddenly get dark. It was great being part of this shared experience.

Okay, enough with the crying people on tv.

Me either, OP. It’s cloudy where I am and couldn’t see anything. But even if I could…

I wasn't really on board with the eclipse madness either but the shared experience was cool. In the DMV, so it was only partial but watched with a groulp at my child's school. It was fun to see how excited the kids were.

DW convinced is to drive to Cleveland and I was sooooooo apprehensive it being worth the effort. It 1000% was worth it. I remember the 2017 eclipse but it wasn't memorable. This was so memorable and awe inspiring.

It was as of a switch was clicked, it went dark, the ring was in the air, the wind stopped and it was one of the most beautiful natural things I've seemed. It was enough to stop my kids in their tracks and that's not an easy feat.

I hope I'm around and able to see the next one.
