ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

I will believe this news when there is factual evidence that they will merge...waiting on someone to post an email or press release to announce another ECNL move between clubs...

Fairly certain this was dripping with sarcasm

Curious if the OP is also the one who posted MV was going to be pushed out at Brave last fall…

MV is going to be in tears if Brave gets taken from him already.

Why does anyone take this serious at all? Union and BRAVE will never merge. The parents from both teams would revolt and throw fits.

I was thinking why anyone would spend the time to post something like this. Who benefits?

I came up with 3 reasons:

1. Someone is very bored and loves to stir things up.
2. A disgruntled parent whose player got rejected for the top team and is bored and wants to stir things up.
3. Someone at SYC wants to stir things up so that parents and players at both Union/BRAVE become worried about losing their spot on a team. This may get some additional girls to come out to SYC tryouts for the new GA team and maybe to get boys to not show up for ECNL tryouts. SYC may have some good MLSNext teams, but their second teams need help.

I personally think it's #3.

Ask your clubs leadership or any ECNL director, this is happening.

Confirmed

As someone involved in the associated clubs, this will never happen. Both clubs don't want this and why in the world would ECNL want to consolidate two teams? Why would ECNL want to get less $ when they can continue to make $ off BRAVE and Union in fees?

Please keep any logic out of this forum. Thank you.

They minimize significance of GA and make up difference in RL fees, while making NL more competitive, too logical?

Nope! your logic is not smart. merging means keeping one team in ECNL and give up the rest of the players to GA.

It was just confirmed, US and Canada will merge to compete in the next World Cup. They will because the real Team America!
