Why would my husband need an HIV test?

According to him no. He was out of town on a work trip and met “her” at a bar, so no way of contacting who it was with.

I was having a slew of rheumatologic symptoms for no reason and HIV testing was part of the panel they ran. Also checked for Lyme disease despiteme never having anytime in the woods.

This is more than possible ^^. We have a friend who pricked himself with a safety pin at the gym and became irrationally convinced that he contracted HIV from it. But OP would probably already know this (for example, the guy with the safety pin also insisted on rabies treatment after traveling in another country and walking around where there were weird looking dogs. So, health anxiety is possible, but if this were a good explanation for OP's situation, she probably would already know.
