If grades aren't ever entered into SIS, or entered the day before SIS closes, we we have no real opportunity to see them, what are we left to think? - also a parent |
| Honestly, parents should start naming the high schools here and the subjects. It's deplorable. Call them out. Even if it it's on this forum. |

I agree with the above poster also. I'm often surprised at who reads this forum and I know Central pays attention from time to time.
I hear schoolboard members track this forum as well. Mclean Highschool, Biology. |
Same. One of kid's teachers has not entered any grades after November first week. |
| My DD has a class where there's only 9 grades total this year and the last one entered was October 16. She assured me she's not worried but it's still a little frustrating. |

W Springfield HS
- English - Geometry (Both 9th grade) Same problem at Irving. |

Fairfax High School
Biology class - MY DD didn't have any grade since December 1st. I believe he updated the gradebook this morning or yesterday and my daughter now has a 57.11 F in that class. They even have quiz grade weighted as a summative. She got an C 1st quarter. |
Also Fairfax HS. One of the AP sciences. Don't want to point her out specifically b/c it's the only class. |
Yes to Irving. I know it's "just" middle school, but two of these classes are the first ones on the high school transcript. Spanish 1 - only one grade entered since Thanksgiving and it was just put in yesterday English 8 Honors - zero grades entered for second quarter. Not a single one. Nothing graded on schoology. Nothing in paper form that has been handed back graded Algebra 1 Honors - nothing since 12/14, including the midterm grade which they took two weeks ago and has not been entered in SIS Civics Honors - nothing since 12/13 Science Honors - consistently entered, thank you! Middle school may be less important to transcripts, etc., but it is also a transition time when parents can really help their kids keep up with assignments, learn when to retake tests, learn for themselves how and when to communicate with teachers. It's really hard to know when to step in as a parent when there are no grades available on SIS, schoology, or in take-home folders. |
