I’d only be impressed if they had a fantastic Harvard Westlake transcript and ECs.

The child actor is famous. Top rated TV show.

How many years ago? And they have a whatever level politician grandparent?

Thats honestly funny. GDS is an amazing school but so are Holton, GDS, St. Albans, NCS, and Maret

From our K-8 I know of at least 6 kids who got into GDS and only 1 ended up going, definitely not 'the most sought after'

Yes same experience here. Quite a few crossed it off their list after learning about the homework. Maybe that is done on purpose to reduce the numbers of applicants. Seems Maret was a sleeper choice for a lot of the kids at our k-8. Madera is another school that is not really talked about on this board but gets a lot of interest.

What's "the homework"? GDS isn't known for giving a lot of homework compared to the other schools listed above.

No GDS told us multiple times during the application process the homework load is 3-4 hours a night plus weekends. They were very proud of this. I got the impression it was to impress the parents. It made an impression with my DD. The homework load and interview just put her off of GDS. Did not apply.
