MCPA wastes so much time and money on useless initiatives that don’t benefit the kids.

PP doesn’t have to try it herself. As a peer, I can tell her it’s a waste of instructional time. Not because our students don’t need SEL, but because LiM is a crappy program ill-suited to the students we serve.

I know! They keep speaking poorly about this program that everyone seems to love and have 0 facts to back it up.

Agree; I don't know why these people keep trashing this program without providing any concrete information. Everyone I know enjoyed it thoroughly.

Actually the shills for LiM are the ones NOT providing information. Name the schools you're at where the teachers and students love it. We've asked three times now.

I'm a school counselor. They won't name schools that love it because they can't, and the data supports staff dissatisfaction with LIM.

I hate it and so does every teacher and student at my MS. Reading from a slideshow 17 minutes a week with a group of 27 random kids is such a waste of time and money. It’s ALWAYS about the same things and they don’t GAF. The kids are mean and nasty and use LIM to get even more bold in how they disrespect teachers and peers.

I think it's safe to assume this program is well-regarded at most schools, but I'd like to know the names of the schools where people aren't giving it a fair chance.

It’s safe to say the majority of schools hate it, which is why it’s being done away with. Nice try though. Name these happy schools. We’re all. Still. Waiting.

A fair shot? We gave it a fair shot for two years. The students absolutely hate it and do not buy into it at all. We’ve given it a fair shot. It has failed. See ya, Covey!

And the county is raising taxes to pay for all these hairbrained wasteful programs.

Class sizes are unmanageable, yet we have the resources to pay for all staff to attend this mandatory training??? Why not use these resources for more teachers?

So lucky! I did that last year. It was amazing.

It can work at the elementary level. But once the kids hit grade 5 and up LiM starts to fall apart and gets nothing but apathy from students and staff. To the poster above, Leader in Me was a $1.8 million $ budget item passed by the BoE. My strong impression is that it is from care act funding not local taxes. I too dread the training. The thought of teaching LiM gave me anxiety all year since they just through it into my homeroom where all these initiatives go to die.

Wow. So much corruption with BoE. Follow the money.

^ Example of the problem?

It probably came out of Federal Cares Act funding.

This LIM Pollyanna is either an epic troll trying to drum up vitriol for fun or a LIM shill trying to convince the same people who hate the program that they don't hate it. Spoiler alert, they tried it, they hate it, and you're not going to convince anyone otherwise.
