Fixed that for you. Look at all the threads on this site about how people are encouraging their kids not to go to college/further their education/pick up a trade itself. |
Not quite “all”. * We also have had generations of good people who studied hard and worked hard — and found that all of their hard work and sacrifices didn’t pay off or lead to actual opportunities for themselves or even for their families. The smart people in corporations for the most part have very different goals from what politicians are supposed to have. A huge part of the problem is that the politicians want the rewards that corporate CEOs get. A bigger problem is that many people can’t see the difference, and vote based on personality cults, racism, and religious beliefs. * https://www.history.com/news/gi-bill-black-wwii-veterans-benefits |
So it took African Americans until Affirmative Action to catch up Will you never stop whining? |
Actually the Dems tried doing a lot, like trying to protect and strengthen the social safety net that stops them from starving outright (some of the biggest concentrations of food stamp recipients are in deep red areas), trying to reskill and retrain out-of-work people in the Appalachian coal belt (and guess what, the coal sector job loss accelerated under Trump's administration, for a number of reasons - lower global demand and higher automation requiring fewer workers among them). The Dems also promoted infrastructure spending to create jobs in deep red areas. The Dems have done a lot for those dying towns. Far more than the Republicans did - all the Republicans did is rile them up to make them spend what little money they have on AR-15s and oversized gas-guzzling pickup trucks that they don't actually need while blaming everyone else for their own problems. |
