Good summary. Anyone even a tiny bit honest would admit that all of that is true. Doesn't really matter whether your kids are in college getting their humanities degrees (as mine are). My spouse and I are well-aware that specialized or STEM degrees would have been more lucrative for them. However, they are not STEM-types, so it is what it is. I don't disagree with what he's saying.

You don't disagree that people should have more children than they can afford, and that it's terrible that women want to have sex in their 20s because that means they're acting like men?

He followed that children line with “and get a job you’re not qualified for,” meaning, if you’re not dense, that you should take on more responsibility in your personal and professional life than you think you can handle. I never knew “aim for the stars” was a controversial statement, but maybe when that sentiment is applied to building a family and not strictly making money or advancing your career you find that offensive somehow? Very telling…

And he didn’t say that thing about women at all. You are misquoting him. He basically said that women have been misled into thinking that being promiscuous is somehow liberating, when in reality it usually it’s the opposite. Ask women how many regrets they have about casual encounters and then ask men the same question and see how the responses break down by gender. Of course this is an obvious point to anyone who is not a raving ideologue, but you knew that anyway. If Michelle Obama said she gave the same advise to her daughters (don’t sleep around in your 20s and aim for the stars in your family and professional life) you would not even bat an eye.

LOL. So like a white man to tell other white men to go get jobs they’re not qualified for. How many women have seen that happen in their own workplace? Raises hand. Must be nice.

Why do people act like it's hard to fall into a prestige gig? Just tell the boss your dad is tight with Reagan and Poppy Bush and you're golden. - T.C.

Yes, sure, I can only imagine the force 10 s$it storm on right wing media, including the Carlson show, if Michelle Obama had told young black man to drop out of college, get a mate at 20 and have so many children they cannot afford. That would have been an off- the charts hurricane.

We n the advice to women, Tucker is going for his usual worldview where (white) men are now emasculated because, unlike in the glorious 50s, they are not by default the ones getting the good jobs and ruling their homes with the power of the purse, while the smiling wife, who “saved” herself for marriage, now happily takes care of the house. In his worldview, any woman who does not accept to subordinate herself to a man is a threat. Nobody says that having sex every night drunk with a different stranger met a bar is a good idea. But simply you are not a slut if you chose your relationships carefully and have several before you find the person you want to share your life with. If people are Christians and want to get to their wedding night as a virgin because of their faith, good for them, just don’t force your morals down other peoples throats

Like most people who are critical of this interview, it also seems like you haven’t even seen it. He didn’t advise white men to do anything, he didn’t mention race or gender at all. He advised young people in general.

He never said anything about Christianity guiding his advice to marry early and have kids young either, nor did he refer to women as sluts for having multiple partners. He said having children gives you more purpose than drinking, sleeping around, brunching, and going on vacations. He also said at the end of the interview that kids are extremely difficult, but every great thing in life is difficult, and all the trouble will be worth it when you have a large family at your deathbed (presumably with many grandchildren since you had kids so early) because there will be nothing more important in your life than not dying alone without anyone who cares about you in a real sense beside you. If you knew anyone who had a death like this, and how deeply sad and cold that experience is, you would see his point.

All these points aren’t even political really. And I personally wouldn’t chide Michelle Obama for giving the same advice to all young people (you’re injecting race into his statements so I don’t know why she by necessity has to be referring to Black men in your example) though I imagine some partisans would. That doesn’t make the points he was making that radical though and point stands that Barack Obama has offered similar insights to young people, and when he did so I had no problem with his points as well.

Let me know when Tucker lets one of his daughters marry some college drop out who hangs drywall. What a POS hack this guy is.

Why didn't Tucker marry and procreate with some idiot college dropout instead of a credentialed woman with over one million dollars worth of elite private school education? Life advice for thee -- not for me. Does he let his daughters socialize with Doordash delivery drivers, HVAC service techs, corrections officers and sanitation workers -- or only fellow highly educated blue blood peers who speak their language?

Good grief. He didn’t say - or intimate - any of that. Nice extrapolation of BS, though. Bravo?

Exactly. The PP is clearly angry partisan who hears “Tucker Carlson” and flies into her usual rage. He said nothing objectionable, didn’t mention race or religion of any kind. I agree with much of what he said.

Surely you understand that rich people can afford things that middle class people cant. That includes elite private school, unless the middle class person gets a scholarship or goes into debt. Im genuinely confused why you all think telling people to be financially prudent and realistic is harmful.

Born rich slackers like Tucker and his coddled kids should get credentialed partying through a pointless easy degree and marry well and hoard the cushy careers and power. But if you lose the birth lottery, just finish high school and get a blue collar job and impregnate Crystal or Marylou from the nearby trailer park as quickly as possible. And drink Bud Light and cheap whisky and get fat while watching sports Nascar and Fox News. Surrender all political and economic power and accept your lot in life, you peasants.

This is what the average DCUM UMC elitist thinks of working class voters, especially tradespeople with Union jobs. These are the types of fantasies you concoct when you’re in a cubicle for every hour of sunlight in December and you and your significant other are on heavy doses of SSRIs but are convinced that all “those other” people made the wrong choices in life.

If a slacker means starting the Daily Caller, being an editor at the Weekly Standard and having the highest rated cable news show in history than I am the laziest person of all time.

I agree with him. Graduating hs and immediately going into college and then launching into a career and working forever so you can make lots of money....a waste of a life. Some of us actually lived our lives that way, and those of us who did know a million more things than those who chose to walk the beaten path of conformity. I opted for adventure instead of college. 50 years old now, and I have never regretted my decision. I'm not finished yet. Got a lot more adventures to have. My whole life is exciting and fun. Never boring. How many people can say that?

It's easy to "start ventures" when you inherited ludicrous amounts of money and can just hire people to build those businesses for you, and when you aren't preoccupied with those pesky little things like a fulltime job and trying to make ends meet.

Just look at Trump and all of the failed businesses like Trump Steaks and Trump University he was able to create with the billions he inherited from his daddy.

Such a bunch of out-of-touch "let them eat cake" thinking there.

He’s not wrong re college. College has become a racket. You can learn almost any useful skill on you tube or by working in the field. It’s really scammy to encourage poor people to incur massive educational debt to go into low paying fields.

I’m wondering how outraged you’d be if some dolt - like you - wrote the above but used the names LaTonya and Danisha instead. And changed all the rest of your racist and classist descriptors to the “nearby ghetto,” etc. You’ve just completely outed yourself as a total rube and a$$hole.
