Nah. I think we raise your rent to levels in ward 3 new Wegmans area instead. The destruction of SFH will never happen. But keep harping on it instead of thinking of viable options for you to buy a home. It will work out.

We've added many thousands of units and 32,000 more residents to Ward 6 in the last 10 years yet it hasn't gotten a damn bit cheaper. More development DOES NOT MEAN more affordable. I think some of these delusional Smart Growth / GGWash idiots need to wake up and realize that even if we get 100,000 more units it still won't make whatever fantasy of them having an affordable highrise condo with a view for $1000 a month to fit whatever salary they are eking out on as a failed planner or architect who writes blog posts instead of doing anything useful.

Sure. But there is no way to “set foot” into these open, grass areas. So it’s just wasted space that should be better utilized.

It’s a nation park. Like most national parks it was undesirable land to develop. You want more housing …build up. All you have to do is remove the height limits in DC.

Could even just remove or lighten height limits outside of the downtown/federal core.

While it is currently illegal to build taller than the Washington Monument, there is nothing illegal about converting Federal land to housing.

Actually, it is illegal to convert National Park land to housing (unless it’s for National Park Service personnel).
