And… crickets. |
http://att.stadiumdallas.org/?msclkid=179a71f73f4e12b9a11113d3108c30f2 Here are what appear to be the non-NFL games to take place at the Cowboys stadium. I count 13, and I note that several appear to be Cowboy related events. I also note several D1 football games, an option that a Commanders' stadium would not have. Perhaps, I am missing something. |

And here are the basics on the events that M&T in Baltimore have hosted. |
That’s a lot more than FedEx has hosted and still isn’t that many. |

Wow. The competence (or incompetence to be more accurate) of the Virginia Assembly is amazing. I would be curious to see whether DC or MD make any real effort here. Both jurisdictions have substantially more experience, information, and data on these stadiums. Perhaps, their lack of effort means something. |
| WHAT DUM DUMS. |
I worked in city planning back when Fed ex was under construction in PG, so many BS lines fed to the communities close by (like Palmer Park) about how awesome this would be, all the new revenue and great jobs and new commercial development. and her were decades later and the struggling communities are worse off in proximity. And now PG is stuck with a stadium that is going to be oudated and irrlevant soon enough. |
MT stadium is urban, that makes a huge difference on evonomic impacts. Same for Nats Park. fedex was in the middle of nowehere and now soon to be nowhere VA. At nats or audi field, people take metro to game after work easily, eat/drink before and after games in the neighborhood. |
You may be missing the point. Football stadiums attract very few events. There are very few events that attract 100,000 attendees. I doubt M&T attracts more than 20 events a year (including football), but at least M&T shares parking space with Camden Yards. And DMV has more than enough concert venues, etc. Would anybody attend a concert on a Friday night that requires driving down 95South or 66W. I am very confident that none of the urban types would even think about it. |

How’s that stadium deal coming along? Oh, what’s that you say? It was another farce that plays out ever 15 years or so …
Newsflash, VA is not getting a football team. It’ll be MD or DC, but honestly as long as Snyder owns the team I am never going to a game regardless of where it is played. |
No! Virginia really deserves the new stadium. Hope it is very expensive and the tax payers fully fund it! |
| VA has the region's highest percentage of affluence and jobs. Its infrastructure is also better (or less worse) compared to MD or DC. It's no wonder Snyder wants to move the team there. |
And I hope Virginia isn't stingy and funds dedicated rapid transit so that fans from DC and MD can enjoy the stadium too! |
