How much collagen is too much collagen?

Anonymous
In my attempt to hit my protein goals, I started adding Vital Proteins collagen to my coffee, and it really helps keep me full and on track with the protein. However, it did nothing (not that I expected it to) about some joint pain I've been having. On a friend's rec, I switched from the Vital Proteins powder to the Spoiled Child liquid. I feel like the liquid really does help with joint issues, but it does not have anywhere near the same protein count and does not help keep me full like the powder did. Would it be overdoing it if I added the powder back in and did both?

Collagen is not a complete protein and should not be counted toward protein goals, I believe it may even say so on the container. That said, it's fine to add. Try both and see how it goes. There are also natural food sources of collagen like bone broth.

This. It is NOT a complete protein and shouldn’t be counted toward your protein goals.
