We need a massive reform on dog ownership in this country. So many of y'all are so entitled and nuts.

A guy pulls a gun and you think we need dog owner reform instead of gun control?
|
Having been bit by a dog while simply walking down a popular path and having known people who were killed by lax gun laws in VA Tech, we need both. It's not an either/or issue. There are dangerous people with guns and dangerous people with dogs. This guy just sits in the middle of the Venn Diagram. |
|
“No one was hurt, no gun was actually seen, and responding officers were unable to locate the suspect, according to an Arlington County police spokeswoman”
|
Agree, we need both. |
So there was no gun, then. |
|
| Oh my gosh, I saw a man tonight with a pit mix off leash in Arlington walking by a park full of kids! Wonder if its the same guy. |
What would dog ownership reform entail? There are already laws requiring leashes but agree that enforcement and penalties are needed. Most dog owners want to see leash laws enforced. My leashed dogs are most in danger from unleashed dogs. |
Maybe a law requiring two leashes? |
You should call things like that in |
The dogs are just a symptom of larger social decay. People are isolated, so they turn to pets for their connection. They treat these pets as they would children, and resent any restriction on their "child" and indulge them in unhealthy ways. Pass all the laws you like, but it won't get rid of the off-leash pit bulls and mounds of feces everywhere. |
1) yes, enforcement of leash laws. That includes people who use stupidly long leashes, or don't have their dog under control when the dog is leashed 2) enforcement of ban on dogs in establishments, other than legitimate service animals. We may need some ADA changes, but even with current ADA laws it's still permissible to turn away anyone who cannot tell you what task their "Service animal" is trained to perform. 3) make it harder to adopt a dog. There are way too many clueless dingdongs who just want a furry companion without the responsibility and work. Maybe have dog owners complete some kind of course before adopting or shopping for a dog? |
We need both. And I’d bet my life savings that guys gun wasn’t acquired legally. |
What gun? |
