IAAT Score Report

Mistakenly posted in the other forum.

Has anyone received the IAAT report from the school or the test maker? I would like to understand the percentile better. I thought it comes with a report. Where do I get it from?

Wolftrap Elementary - they were available on Friday, kid’s teacher told him today, and I checked on Sisparent.

Also Wolftrap Elementary - We received our report in the mail today, but there is no further explanation of the percentile. The percentile is also shown in ParentVUE.

Why would you need more info? Your kids was ranked nationally with other kids doing the same thing.

You can see strengths and weaknesses so that kids can go over the parts they are not very good at. The point should be to learn math, not just to be placed in the class. There is nothing wrong with going over the test results.

Raw score reports are really important for both parents and educators or at least they should be. I regularly ask for the raw reports for iReady and other tests where I know they're available. The reports provide an insight into your child's learning that a percentile score alone doesn't reveal. For this reason alone, you should be looking at it.

It could also simply mean your kid is average.

That's what the VGA is for, as well as the SOL.

And also IAAT...

The IAAT is not measuring what the kids learned, per se. It is a timed test but the material on it is not just from one year. If the IAAT = VGA or SOL then all the kids would take it.

You need to ask the school for the test score breakdown if you want that information. I don’t understand why it isn’t just sent out but it isn’t.

The percentile, or an uploaded document with the score report? Different ES and I don't see a document but I do see the percentile on SIS. Don't feel the need to ask for a breakdown but wouldn't mind one if schools are uploading it. I already have a pretty good idea of my kid's weaknesses from homework.

All the school provides is the percentile. You have to ask for the raw score and question breakdown.

I asked for the raw score breakdown, but was told that the school doesn’t get that information.

No. This is a timed test and not based on the school year material. Just one's readiness for Algebra.
