New to ECNL National. I'm trying to get an idea of what is expected to be included in the ECNL fee, which over $3,500++ (including team fee).
3 or 4 practices week? what's normal? How many tournaments are expected (from Sept - May)? and how many are usually covered by the fee? How about charter busses, is that normally covered in the fee as well? Thanks |
3 team practice + 1 conditioning is what club fee include
Team fee includes Wags, Jeff Cup, 1 showcase and maybe 1-2 tournaments depend on club/ team, coach traveling expenses, buses (if provided) |
I think you may need to be a bit more specific about the team/teams you are asking about. There is some variance amongst the teams. |
U13 is the age group. 1st year of ECNL National. |
This. Some clubs like to upcharge and underdeliver compared to other clubs. |
Probably need to include the club you're asking about if you need help deciphering your club's fees for U13. That said, I am sure whatever club your son/daughter will be playing for either has a website, ppt, or presentation (or all of the above) explaining what their fees include and don't include, as well as how many practices per week. |
A lot clubs websites don’t have such information, some are very vague. For example Arlington, NVA, FVU don’t really have much information at all. As a comment above mentioned, seems like some clubs tent to upcharge and underdeliver. |
Agree. Most websites don’t get that specific |
I admittedly haven't looked at FVU and Arlington, but NVA very clearly spells out their financial policy. And Arlington I think had a meeting or ppt that may have contained information you're seeking. If your kids' club hasn't shared this basic information, seems like you would want to email them or otherwise speak to the club directly before you sign the dotted line. |
What do you mean by "new to"? Are you already committed to a team? |
The point is to get an idea of what is being covered by the fee in “other” clubs, and compare it with one’s club. Which I think is good info to spread around, so that clubs stay competitive. Contacting each club for such details seems like a real hassle… posting some of that info in this forum would be easier. |
VDA does a good job breaking out the cost.
Our sons play for SYC MSL Next. The team fees are team specific. |
You get a patch for your jersey and the opportunity to spend more money for travel than the other competitive teams in your club. |
VDA does show A LOT more information and its specific by age group, but couln't find the number of trainings weekly, I assume it would be 4 times like NVA. Arlington and McLean, couldn't find much info on their websites. NVA doesn't mentioned the number of tournaments, but they disclose 3 team training days and 1 functional training day a week. FVU and BRAVE shows 2 non-ECNL tournaments and 1 ECNL National Event included in the fees, so that's 3 tournaments/events total, doesn't seem like much, is it? How many tournaments is your club doing in ECNL national? I assume most train 3 times a week with 1 functional training day, or do some only train 3 times and that is it? |
VDA trains 4 days a week and it is very well structure with specific curriculum not like some of these other bigger clubs where theri coaches do as they please.
