Rachel Carson Vs Rocky run Middle school

Hello !. We are planning to make a move ,our DD would be in Middle school coming school year. Rating wise I could see RR is winning but have heard that RC has many STEM based clubs so very hard to choose.Please share your thoughts about these schools .TIA.

All of the clubs are run by parent volunteers. If your kid is interested in any club which is not in the school you can start it in the school. Both Rocky Run and Carson are good schools.

High school pyramid matters more. To me Carlson and Oakton pyramid makes more sense. But other might disagree.

Carlson address might go to: Oakton, Chantilly, South Lake, Westfield. They are ranked in that order from making MOST sense to LEAST sense to me.

Am I being clear enough? You can state what makes most sense to you.

We prefer Chantilly HS over Oakton based on location.

DD goes to Rocky and her best friend goes to Carson. They are fairly equivalent schools in terms of academics and after school STEM clubs. Keep in mind that the popular ones are competitive and can be difficult to get into at either school.

Rocky does have a new principal and DD says he is not as well liked as the previous principal (who is now the principal of Chantilly High).

I'll throw another idea out. Look at Franklin. They have an excellent AAP program and getting into clubs is not as competitive.
Franklin feeds into Oakton or Chantilly.

+1, people looking for TJ as high school with dedicated, motivated, and talented kid this may be a better option (more predictable admission).

If all of Rocky Run goes to Chantilly, then I would choose that. It's really annoying that Carson feeds to four different high schools.

You know which middle school and high school your kid go to by your address. Your child would just be classmate in Carson with kids going to other HSs. Where they are going doesn't affect where your kid is going.
