Why do they assume that us lazy people want to eat healthy?
|
| I have NO idea, but solidarity. |
Thank you. It helps to know I am not alone! |
| Why can’t I buy boneless chicken thighs at all anymore? I never see them anywhere! |
| I agree completely. However, this forced me to learn how to debone chicken thighs, and it’s not actually as difficult as I’d originally thought! |
It's not that hard, and I'll take it as the price to get to eat the skin, but still. On a weeknight minutes count! |
|
Because it’s a sales trick to get you to buy the whole chicken instead bone-in, skin on.
Many whole chickens don’t get sold as people boneless skinless cutlets or drumsticks . The whole chicken is actually more value for price because you can keep the carcass and bones to make chicken stock, soups, etc,. All the good vitamins and collagen and stuff is in the bones and skins and giblets at least for soups and stews . boneless/ skinless is easier to cook however |
But.. you can buy bone in, skin on thighs. So not sure that logic makes sense. I’m far more likely to debone a thigh than break down or roast a whole chicken. I just want them to debone it for me and leave the skin. DP btw who would love some crispy skin on a weeknight! |

| My MIL, who is admittedly a pretty labor intensive customer, asks them to do this for her at Whole Foods and they do. |
| I've gotten them at Wegmans. |
| Same. Half the recipes I make use bone-in thighs and dealing with the bone is a PITA. Especially for kids. I use boneless skinless thighs instead but I want that golden brown skin the recipe shows! |
| I buy them all the time from Wegmans. |
| Wegmans. Bought some today. |
| The Whole Foods butcher counter will debone them for you. |
