| After a bout of gestational diabetes- now one year postpartum - I have been diagnosed with prediabetes. Please tell me what you did to reverse this diagnosis. I am kind of freaking out. TIA. |
|
Ozempic! I’m not kidding.
I’ve also done it before with a low carb diet and Herculean discipline. But if you are open to it, and if you can get coverage or afford it otherwise, definitely talk to your doctor about it. Good luck! You’ll get it under control. You can do it, even if it’s just with diet. |

I also understand it can be done by intermittent fasting. |
Same! I had gestational diabetes as well. I’m on Ozempic and it’s brought my A1C down to normal levels. Insurance covers it. |
|
Ozempic is a radical first step for pre diabetes and won’t be covered by insurance. That’s a ridiculous suggestion. Start with metformin and reduce your carb intake. A strict low carb diet isn’t necessary.
Worked for me. |
| A friend did it by going vegan. |
| DP. My daytime sugars are ok, but my fasting sugar runs high. My A1c floats in and out of prediabetic range. No matter what I eat, my sugars are better controlled when I exercise regularly and get enough sleep. Eating dinner earlier sometimes helps too, but not as much as exercise and sleep. |
| Lost some weight and exercised regularly. |
| Exercise almost every day. Sleep consistent hours. I have not lost weight but my a1c went down and stayed down. |
| Eat like you did when you were on the gestational diabetes diet. |
I lost all the baby weight (finally) and my bg normalized. |
After the prediabetes/diabetes is reversed, this is not necessary. |
| try magnesium |
| I lost weight and became fit. 20 years later and I still haven’t become pre-diabetic again |
| Moved to a country that doesn’t load everything with sugar. Came back and totally kept off sugar. |
