I’m surprised this hasn’t been discussed and I’m wondering if anyone has any more info.

Like what other info? You want the kids names? The types of threats made? Kids with social media are jerks and irresponsible. But if it doesn't involve your kid and you weren't notified as such, what difference does it make?

And yes, I do want to know what kind of threats were made.
I heard the threat involved a gun.
If that is true, which it seems it could be given the amped up police presence, it is very concerning and goes well beyond “kids with social media are jerks”.
I was wondering if other parents had heard anything credible.

I'm not rude. It is being handled with increased security like the letter says. You won't be told what kinds of threats were made.

But kids and parents talk.
Asked a simple question…your response was unnecessarily snarky.
My kid may not have been threatened directly, but as we all know it isn’t always just the intended target who gets hurt when guns are involved.

If the perpetrator has been identified and suspended, why did security need to be increased? Does this mean they don’t know who all was involved with the threat or they aren’t suspending the perpetrator?

I've had 2 DCs at Lakelands Park. They have told me that there are ms13 gang members at that school. I always thought they were just being jokers about that but now I do wonder. It doesn't make sense that they are sending more police to monitor the schools and the kentlands and Lakelands of the guilty student has already been apprehended.

I’ll bet it’s a COSA kid with severe mental health issues that have been ignored by MCPS because they are a child of color. Often McPS will shuffle kids like this to under enrolled schools while forgetting they cut allocations and other resources to those exact schools.

Usually because someone reached a person associated with the news at the right time. “Hey this happened at my school” and if whoever they reached at the news has time they cover it

Moderately moco put out some tweet about security guards not showing up the next day and MCPS tweeted them saying that they were spreading misinformation causing moderately to delete it and put up a retraction.

I heard that moderately was actually right about the whole thing. Sucks they tried to make them look bad by possibly lying.
