| I recently discovered that we are expecting a baby girl! My mother-in-law is an absolute angel, and I would love to surprise her by naming our daughter after her. Her full name is Judith, but she never goes by that. Do you think Judy is too old-fashioned? If we decide to honor my mother-in-law, should we go with Judith and use Judy as a nickname, or simply give it to her as a middle name? |

I agree. I think these types of names are going to be making a comeback. It’s going to be weird for older generations to start hearing these names again but I think they will come back around. My mom is a boomer and these sound like the names of her friends. OP, I think it’s so sweet and either name is really cute. |

| OP just be careful. I loved my MIL before my first was born too. After the baby came our relationship became very strained for a variety of reasons. Motherhood really changes everything; just be forewarned. |
