I (Dad) have always given my kid haircuts but now my tween is starting to pay attention to looks and frankly the last haircut I gave her was sort of uneven.
Please recommend some places near NW DC or willing to travel to Bethesda, Rockville, Kensington or Silver Spring. Budget wise, under $50 extra points if fun vibes or near somewhere wheee we could have a father daughter outing after, |
| At that age, for a hair cut, I used to take my daughter to a local Hair Cuttery. Not the fanciest place, but they always did a nice job. She has long, slightly wavy hair, and it was usually just cutting off a couple of inches on the ends. But didn't bust the bank and the blow dry was always very pretty. |

I absolutely hate hair, Cuttery, and when you wind up cutting a girls hair, they do a bunch of add-ons for blow, drying, conditioner, long hair, etc. I found it was just as expensive as taking her to my own salon.
Use Google and find a salon ranked 4.5 or higher in your area. Just bite the bullet and pay a little bit extra for the first time outside the Home. It will be appreciated. |

My salon is eclips in McLean, I love them.
Don’t know of a Maryland one though, but Google is your friend |
| You’ve been cheaping out all these years by cutting it yourself. Find one of the better salons near you and splurge a little. She deserves it for tolerating all those bad haircuts . |

How old is she? You may be the territory for a women's pricing now.
I have taken my kid to Bang; they have junior stylists who charge less. The one on 15th & P and the one on U & 16th St are both lively and lots of places all up and down 14th St to walk, eat, shop, etc. (fwiw, I also get my hair cut there and haven't ever had a bad one) |
|
I'd recommend Bang for this. There are multiple locations.

Disregard this poster who is clearly an AH. |
| Hair Cuttery is fine. My tween loves the cuts she gets there. |

My kid is AA so we have an AA person do her hair at her house in whatever style she chooses lol.
Assuming your kid is white go to hair cuttery closest to you. Don’t fall for the add ons except maybe a blow dry if your kid wants it. |
You’re assuming White kids don’t have hair issues so they can go to any old place. Mine has extremely difficulty hair, too thick, 10 different textures, got mangy looking by the end of the day. I went to about 7 or 8 different places before I found one that that did dry cuts certified in the Ouidad method. It was an amazing difference. Worth the $300. |
