Any favorite restaurants to recommend for a family traveling with a child this spring, particularly a "festive" sushi place in downtown Vancouver (incl. possibly Granville Island) that would have fun atmosphere for a special evening? We particularly like Asian food and want to lean into that while we are in Vancouver for a few days.
Also, can anyone speak to the crowds at Whistler in late March (i.e., spring break) and whether it's a zoo there and hard to just walk into the casual ski village cafes and restaurants at dinner time, before 6:30 pm? Many of the casual pizza/bbq/burger spots don't appear to take reservations. Any hope sitting at a family-friendly apres-ski place at the base of the slopes after 3:30 pm or is that also a zoo? Has anyone taken their kid(s) to hear the Hair Farmers popular local band at either Merlin's or Dusty's? Wondering if that gets rowdy early or ok for a kid who otherwise is fine with music/some noise around 7-8 pm. Thanks for your tips -- both places look wonderful online and easy enough to navigate with a lot of great options for food, shopping and touring, but hoping for some recent intel. |
