My jaw literally dropped when I read the guy's name. Alexander Smirnov.

I'm sure he has no Russian ties. At all.

The informant, Alexander Smirnov, has been touted by Republicans for months as a credible source that shows the president and his son were directly involved in corruption schemes. Smirnov’s arrest and charges that he fabricated his claims about the Biden family’s business dealings significantly undercut Republican allegations that the president was improperly involved with his son’s business interests.

But Republicans downplayed Smirnov’s indictment on Thursday night. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., one of the Republicans leading the inquiry, said in a statement that the probe “is not reliant on the FBI’s FD-1023,” referring to the name of documents the FBI uses to document information from confidential human sources.

That’s the one! Coincidentally, he was also in charge of the Justice Department and thus the Federal jail that Epstein was in. Where the cameras, multiple, all stopped at the same time and both guards fell asleep.

The Republicans like to make up huge conspiracies - like Q, like Pizzagate, like every accusation against the Bidens - but they don’t notice the criming in their own ranks.

If we had an AG with a backbone, anyone associated with pushing this farce would be charged.

There. That’s something I resent Biden for: nominating Garland for AG. I wanted tooth and claw and people actually getting held responsible for massive crimes. It used to be a big deal to make crap up and lie, especially when there’s a chance you might be working for a foreign government!

While I believe Biden will win, if he loses, it will be because of Garland’s inability to understand the moment.
