OK Dress for Mother of the Groom Rehearsal Dinner?

Anonymous
This dress has a white background, but I would say it is more flowered than white. Is it OK to wear to the rehearsal dinner/drinks party? I don't want to offend the bride if it reads too white, and I don't want to ask her because she'll tell me to wear whatever I want. Thanks in advance!

Hahaha if I were the bride I would be totally fine but also I would laugh about it.

Yes, it’s lovely.

It’s a floral dress, not a white dress. (And the dress looks more cream than white.)

And it’s the rehearsal dinner, not the wedding.

Why don't you just buy the light pink version?

For $600 thats the only one you really want?

It's really nice. It's fine residual since there's a print on the back too

Seems pretty bold for the mother of the groom. I guess it depends on your age and the venue.

Oooof, I’m usually one to say “it’s fine” if there’s a significant pattern against a white background, but NO. This has way too much white. And there’s literally a pink version RIGHT THERE!

Be reasonable, OP:
1) Would this totally be among a stylist’s picks to show a BRIDE for the rehearsal dinner? Yes, yes it would.

2) If you have to ask….

I agree. It's a lovely, joyous dress for a rehearsal.

It's a gorgeous, stunning dress - but I think it is a little too bridal for anyone other than the bride.

Congrats on your son's wedding!

No because in photo s taken from closer range it will absolutely just look like a white dress. Also if you stand up at dinner to speak, from some angles it might just look white.

I'm someone who does not care about this at all but if the bride cares, or even if she doesn't but her friends or family do, this is the kind of thing that becomes more -- remember when my MIL wore that showy white dress with the flowers to our rehearsal dinner? Even if she just laughs it off, do you really want to be this person.

Get the pink one.

Thanks for all of the responses. White is the only color available in my size. Too bad, because I love the dress.
