Might be a property tax bill, or are they exempt? Hmm, curious…

Nonprofits (including church institutions) aren't generally exempt from real estate taxes, just income tax.

Have they been properly withholding and remitting income tax for their employees?

Schools are exempt if they request an exemption. https://otr.cfo.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/otr/publication/attachments/property_tax_exemption_narrative.pdf

Can't imagine visi hasn't requested one

Wow.

I doubt they are the only one. Just the first to try to get away with this and to get caught…

The OP is the Visi-troll who reliably shows up in every thread where Visi might be mentioned and starts their own threads like this one. They have something going on with that school. Like the old SAAS troll who finally got booted by the mod.

I do wonder about someone who found this info. They must have set up some sort of web crawler to identify anything about Visi and send it to their inbox. Or they just search the web for these things. Unclear which one is worse.

Well, I’m the OP. I have no kid at Visi and no interest in Visi. I was reading the Washington Business Journal and tend to scroll through the tax liens as it is insightful about businesses that are struggling or likely to close. I saw the info and posted it.

But…you be you.

Why did you post it? And what do you think the school is trying get away with?

Anonymous
I posted it because it’s interesting. Perhaps not to you but to others either considering the school or with kids in the school. Heck, it’s interesting to me and I have zero affiliation.

Why are you so sensitive about it? It was literally published in the WBJ…I’m not conducting deep journalistic explorations to expose some kind of dark side.
