Snow Day Food Post

Tomorrow is likely the last snow for this year. What warm cozy food are you making to celebrate? Will the stores be slammed today, or does no one care because it falls on a weekend?

Goulash. Not that "American Goulash" crap with ground beef and macaroni. Slow braised beef with paprika. I serve it over mashed potatoes, or sometimes over egg noodles.

Turkey and white bean chili, will pick up some crusty bread on my way home from work today

Store was quite busy when I went earlier

We’re going to Rehoboth for the weekend. Old Bay steamed shrimp here I come.
Oh and Nutella crepes for breakfast on Sunday.

Guinness stew or chili.
And make banana bread with all the brown bananas in the freezer.

We have options because we're fully stocked but I think we'll do cinnamon rolls, bacon, and fruit for breakfast and chicken and/or beef enchiladas with homemade guac and salsa for dinner. Probably ramen for lunch (store bought) with fresh toppings.

Love this! Now I want to pick up ingredients for some Hungarian goulash.

This is what I'm making. The store was a bit a mad house, but I usually do not go on Friday afternoon, so maybe that's the norm.
