Turn out at FCV GA and Revolution GA tryouts this week?

Anonymous
For anybody that’s been to tryouts at either event so far this week, how was the turn out?

Just answer your own question FCV Dad or CC or BP, just don't start another FCV thread, thank you.

For Revolution the turnout was what you'd expect for the first ID session on 2 days notice.

There was over 1 million players trying out.

One dad had ECNL tattooed on his forehead. That will get embarrassing if his daughter makes the team.

Did they had out VRSC fan gear? Lollipops?
Actually probably offers to anyone who showed up.

Given that Revolution hired CC away from FCV and he then worked to convince a number of FCV coaches to follow him (some of whom are still coaching at FCV until the end of the spring), you would assume that the existing FCV players had plenty of notice about tryouts at Revolution and FCV. You might also reasonably assume that existing FCV GA players were told that they don’t even need to attend tryouts at Revolution because they’ll automatically be on the Revolution GA team if they agree to change clubs. But that still leaves the question of FCV United players, Revolution players and players from clubs other than FCV and Revolution who might be interested. Curious to know what those players decided to do.

This is very likely, IMO. Leave no revenue on the table!

And? it doesn't change the fact that this is a true statement "the turnout was what you'd expect for the first ID session on 2 days notice."

09 tryouts had about 20-25 players there. Most were Revolution players judging by the clothing and backpacks. I personally didn’t see anybody with FCV gear but I might’ve just missed it or maybe those players didn’t come because they know they have a spot if they want it. 2010 tryouts were right before and I would guess there were 18-20 players there. Didn’t pay much attention to them but it looked like a lot of Revolution players which isn’t surprising.

I find to crazy that it’s mid-February and there are tryouts already. I mean isn’t this the time to practice with teams and try them out?

FCV and Revolution trying to beat each other to the same players as well as have their tryouts before the March 1 date for ECNL clubs. Hoping to get those commitments early before players can look around elsewhere. Nobody in their right mind would sign something right now unless you’re 100% certain.

In reply to above post: Spot on. DD’s friend is on a United team. That friend was told they didn’t need to go to tryouts and would be placed on a GA team at Revolution. So it sounds like the GA will likely be former United players and those that decided to move over from FCV GA? It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.
