Non Apple Ballot Board of Ed Members

Some people feel that MCEA/Apple Ballot determines who is elected to the Board of Education but that is not the case.

The following are recent times when the Apple Ballot was not elected.

2022: Brenda Wolff defeated Valerie Coll (Apple Ballot Candidate and former MCPS Teacher)

2020: Lynn Haris defeated Sunil Dasgupta (Apple Ballot Candidate).

2016 Jeaneete Dixon defeated Phil Kauffman (Incumbent Apple Ballot Candidate).

2014 Jill Ortman-Fouse defeated Shebra Evans (Apple Ballot Candidate)

2012 Rebecca Smondrowsk defeated Fred Evans (Apple Ballot Candidate)

It seems that getting the Apple Ballot is not an automatic victory and 3 of the current Board Members are not "Apple Ballot".
