I have a teen who is grumpy. We'll be in Philadelphia for just a day and a night. Please give ideas for restaurants or things to do. Thank you.
|
Go to South Street and just wander.
What does grumpy teen like to do?
I would give the teen a list of options - some ideas off hand - make your own food tour (cheesesteak, water ice, soft pretzels, reading terminal market, Steven Starr restaurants come to mind off hand as ideas), mutter museum, some kind of art museum (there are a few options), history stuff like liberty bell & continential congress, college campus tours (informal or formal) - and let the teen pick what to do.
Reading Market for lunch
Ignore teen and do what you want.
Take them to Eastern State Penitentiary - sure to cheer up any grumpy kid https://www.easternstate.org/
Mutter Museum is great.
Take them for coffee / hot chocolate and a dessert in the afternoon at the 4 seasons skyhigh cafe on the 60th floor . It’s pricey but will create a memorable experience. The view is amazing and the whole experience is lovely.
It's a pretty grumpy city so teen will fit right in.
Morimoto is a cool, yummy restaurant (but pricey) that my grumpy teen loved.
My teen, not particularly grumpy, but groggy from surgery, loved the Rocky Stairs.
I mean, why not NYC instead? All teens, grump or not, love the city that never sleeps.
Drop him off at one of the city’s many hoods. It would give him “perspective “.
Just do whatever you want, a grumpy teen isn’t going to like anything you choose so don’t cater to them
