Do you have roadside service? What company?

I’m about to have a new driver and thinking this through. I did not grow up having AAA. Never had a car break down but this is only a problem for as long as it’s not a problem. I read some online reviews of AAA, etc., and it’s incredibly mixed. If you have a service that you like, please share!

When I had Verizon, I signed up for their $5/month roadside assistance. It meant that anyone who had the phone could call roadside assistance. It was great. Eventually, we switched to USAA, which was also great.

Either your insurance company or AAA.

Our neighbor had AAA. When the car key was left in a locked car at Assateague, AAA, went there and helped unlock the car. I was amazed. So I signed up for AAA. So far, I have not need to use them.

I have AAA, and they have saved my butt numerous times. One time my car wouldn't start, and they brought me a new battery and installed it. In less than an hour.

If you are in Virginia, roadside assistance on highways is free

AAA has been great. Sometimes there’s a wait if other perks are ahead of you. It’s still a fantastic service that I’ve used probably half a dozen times.

We are another AAA family. We have used it multiple times. As a matter of fact, my son just used it when his car got stuck in the snow and he does not even live in this area. He's away at college.

Does anyone know how AAA compares to USAA? I used to love USAA roadside but now they do a back and forth of texting with no human interaction. It was incredibly stressful when I was stuck on the side of the highway and I couldn't speak with anyone and the texting/phone did not pinpoint my location.

I also have AAA. My mom buys it as my xmas gift every year lol. I've had to use it more times than I'd like to admit!

I have it as an add on to my insurance (Geico). I think I’ve used it twice over the years, both times for a dead battery that couldn’t be jumped. There was a wait, but other than that it was great.
