| 55+ folks, what's your total net worth? Is it enough for two people's post retirement life? |
| not 55 yet. can't comment. |
|
Why are we doing these weekly now?
|
To be fair, our net worth changes about every 5 minutes. /s We are 61 and our combined total net worth is about $700k; half in home equity and half in IRAs. Still going to work, of course! |
| 55 and 56, about $3.5 million plus our home (~$1.2 million) |
| 49 and 53, NW 4.2 mil. Plan to work till 65. |
So don't! |
| 51. About 2.5M inc house |
| USNews and a lot of CFPs recommend 6x your annual salary by 50. But according to the federal government, must Americans at this age are far below that amount, while the highest income Americans (over 200k) have at least that, which skews the average amount saved by 50 above the median. Most banks and news organizations report the data collected by the government on this regularly. Asking random people on the internet is not likely to be accurate. |

Two 56 year olds:
Total Net Worth: $3.7 million Brokerage Accounts: $250,000 Home Equity: $850,000 Retirement Accounts: $1.1 million Pension: $56,000 if DH retires, today, so estimated value of about $1.5 million. We have 529s with enough money to pay for college for the kids, so that is a non-factor here. I feel like we could retire on this right now if we wanted to or were forced to, but will probably work for at least another five years. |

52 and 44
Net worth ~$8.7M Equity-$2.2M Brokerage $6.5M |
| 63 and 50 so we average around 55. About 4.7 m. Trying to stick it out one more year. |
