Is it the one drop theory (of anything)? Is it cultural? I am fairly confident that in the next hundred years few of us will be able to mark only one box. I am in an interracial marriage to some, but my husband always marks Hispanic and White. Two of my kids look Latin, the other one looks completely like me (Anglo). Race is a cultural construct and you can no longer tell just by looking at most people what race or national origin or color skin their parents have...............

"Race" isn't something that people "have" - it's fluid, and for some people, doesn't exist at all. Someone's "race" isn't something that you get to decide or assume is even a thing for others. It's an incredibly arbitrary and fluid thing to focus on in 2013.
