2026 Girls Player Commitments🥍🥍

I thought we would not need this again, but we do!

A friendly PSA reminder----

https://www.facebook.com/...tid=K35XfP

I copied this from the above link. It is a very healthy approach.

Only a measly 3% of high school lacrosse players actually make it to play Division 1 in college. Seriously, let that sink in before you start tearing apart a family's choice or a player's decision to attend a particular school!

“You have to remember that everyone is coming from a different spot. Some folks will use the recruiting process to get into the best academic school possible, regardless of the money involved. For others, the main focus is lowering the cost of college as much as possible. Some families are focused on playing for the "best" lacrosse program they can play for. All these decisions are fine as long as they meet the family's needs.
Trying to put your priorities onto other families' choices just doesn't make sense since everyone is coming from a slightly different place.”

This would seem to be a pretty liberal use of the word great.

Interesting... I guess that is one way of looking at it but I did not use the word ELITE. ELITE players are committed but their are plenty of great players who have been on visits, phone calls, etc but are not yet committed. If you are one of the parents that has committed congratulations! If you are younger parent just know that this is hard! Good luck to all!

This is a terrible terrible post.

If you daughter has committed already, congrats, show some class. If you have a younger kid, you have NO idea how competitive and hard this is. We are blessed and my daughter has committed and I can tell you there are A TON of great players that don't have a home yet.

Lacrosse popularity has skyrocketed. Players are playing more and getting better instruction than ever. Lacrosse is spreading to new parts of the country and gaining depth in places that it was already strong. There are only 129 Division Programs in the country.

This process is very hard on families and especially 16 year old girls. Girls that have worked hard and are living and dying with every phone call, text, or "view" of their profile or video. To jump in from the sidelines and criticize that it's liberal use of the word great is disgusting.

Do better

The Father is a world renowned Arachnologist who has published many books on the many species in that region . Pretty sure the daughter will follow .

I'm familiar with the word great and the phrase "tons of great" and what you had said was they received no offers. So I guess we'll just disagree on liberalness of the term great.

I took the post to mean great kids who play lacrosse and it was meant as positive encouragement for those players and parents still going through the process. It’s nice to see people supporting each other through what can be an extremely challenging situation.

That's fine. The post was great players, so that's how I read it. Took cues from myriad (hundreds/thousands of posts) where specific teams have been on blast for being terrible (their talent level).

The same people see all these posts on the various threads. Yet there are at least 2 that are now really invested in protesting that someone/some group isn't a great player. But yet very rarely has there been a multiple poster defense of people named out like that. Usually, any defense is by a parent of siad type team. Or me. Guess if you're not "great", it doesn't matter.

It was me that used the term great. I am genuinely curious now are you a parent of a committed player, are you the parent of a younger player or are you in fact just a dick?

Where are you when 5th, 7th or any other kind of graders are being called terrible and worse?

Someone said not everyone is great. "Call the cops now as it fits people I know". Expected. Really weird board here.

I have no idea what you are talking about and you did not answer the question. Just want to say it again ....plenty of GREAT players out there that are not yet committed. If you are watching this to see what is in store for your child when they go through recruiting be prepared that it is HARD!!!! Best of luck to all!

You didn't answer the question either, but could be you have trouble following internet threads. There are no doubt a number of good players out there that haven't been offered yet.

The long posts showing the commits, what's the deal with that? All of the clubs listed have done well, but if you're going to post it, please post it accurately. The LI Top Guns have 20 D1 commits, not 15. You're missing commits to Virginia, Stony Brook, Navy, Loyola, and High Point.
