UVA — how best to transfer in?

After some research, not seeing much info or details on what it really takes to transfer to UVA for second year (VA resident, from a 30s ranked private college). Any good source or anecdotal info?

NOVA community college is the cheapest and easiest option, OP - guaranteed admission to UVA!

But we can't say our kid is going to a community college, what would our friends say about that? We would be ruined in our social circles.

OPs kid is already at another school. Take your enthusiasm to insult people elsewhere.

Not trying to be rude, but why transfer? Money? It sounds like they are at a top school, without transferring.

What do you mean that you don’t see info? Surely they have it on their website?

Have a 4.0 at current university. Plan to transfer fall semester. Pick a major that lots of kids drop out of at uva first year. Have taken 2 semesters of a foreign language at your current university or have the AP credits to place out.

Thank you.
Anyone know majors that UVA kids drop?

Engineering but I don’t know that they drop or if they get booted but that’s kind of a weed out program everywhere. It might be a difficult one to transfer into though. I’d call the school. Dean J posted about transferring before if you don’t follow her, you should! She does live videos where you can ask questions and she will answer them.

A friend’s daughter did a year at George Mason, got very good grades, and transferred in as a 2nd year.

It’s much easier to transfer in as ,on gas they’re doing very well at current college. The tricky part is getting the credits to count at UVA.
