Paint color for a large, windowless basement

Any ideas? I'm torn between just doing a white and doing something with a little color, like Sherwin Williams sea salt or sagey. It's a lot of wall space because it's 2/3 of our house in one big room. So I'm a little worried that I go with a color, I will get tired of it. But I'm afraid a white will be too boring/clinical for a space with almost no natural light (we have two tiny, high windows).

I tend to use Sherwin Williams - any suggestions to try before I commit?

My interior decorator did a off white and 1 accent wall. We did a very warm blue but I love sage.

Truthfully I always consult with someone about color.

I think I could do our one long wall with the windows in a color and then the rest white. I'll have to figure out if the white we normally use has undertones that work with the color I'm interested in though.

We did a very light yellow with a white ceiling to brighten things up

Neutral beige multi-tone carpet. Dark grey sectional.

Carpet like this, but lighter - less of the dark brown. And, I know, not what I would choose, but it was there when we purchased and this is mainly a teen space/workout area so I am not replacing it til they are out of the house.

OP here - we have used SW incredible white in most of the house and I love it, but I read some blogs that say it's not as good in a low light basement.

I'd use a light buttercream. It has enough soft yellow to reflect any light, no matter how low.

I googled “dark gray sectional in basement ideas” and these ideas popped up. Either you prefer a moody dark basement overall or a lighter Grieg.

We have Sagey in South facing basement but our carpet is white with some gray and black specks (not off white) and our bulbs are 3K so it works. It looks beautiful in the daytime but okay at night, better than white walls though In contrast, SW mountain air looks very beautiful day or night with similar carpet and 3k bulbs.

Gray couch works with Sagey.

Off white with lots of colorful accessories.

Other colors that could work - SW Rainfall, SW Blue Horizon, BM Gray owl, BM Stonington Gray.

Cream and yellow shades may not work so well for a basement. I would stay away from those.

We used a soft yellow. Not too intense, just enough to brighten and visually warm the room up. Really happy with it.

We have Sea Salt upstairs, and I love the color, but it's more cool / grey than I wanted in a basement with no natural light.
