ECNL moving to school year not calendar

I was expecting ecnl to make an individual statement, outside of the us club statement.

The funny thing is the ECNL bigwigs have been talking this up, calling for the change, etc. and when it happens, they say absolutely nothing. Way to be leaders. And don’t say “it’s US Club Soccer, blah blah blah…” ECNL is the one people care about since they were the ones beating the drum. Now let’s hear how it’s going to be implemented there, and other top leagues. We don’t care about state associations.

If I had to guess, they’re coming up with transitional rules and these new rules may need to be approved by someone. In any case, they need to finalize these rules asap so that the clubs and players can make decisions.

ECNL will officially come out with new rules around late spring. Will let clubs get all
The players they can first before dropping the bomb. Be ready.

Some parents will get the NL offer and quickly find they are now RL.

We have some interesting possibilities - our club did the dance and changed to MLSN - and it's all very vague where/who we'll be playing in the Fall plus threats of more kids coming in (as usual).

Sticking there is an option and a decent one, but, the other option, especially if ENCL does something for 25/26 would be to go back to an ENCL club and switch years.

Encl likely holding its cards to see if ga will say whether it’s switching or not.

It’s been clearly communicated that there’s no changes occurring this next year and leagues and clubs are proceeding as such. Some regions and multiple states have completed tryouts already. Change plans for the following year will likely be communicated by end of this year in time for next Spring tryouts.

Wrong.

BY registration does not mean the league cannot have its own rule. (ex. MLS has biobanding)

For ECNL level, tryout means nothing. Coach can always bring new players in as the roster can be 30 players.

Exactly. ECNL already has a rule allowing trapped players to play down in 8th grade. They can modify this rule and expand it.

There will not be an age change starting in 25/26 however there will be some flexibility coming for ECNL teams for next year.

Elaborate on the meaning of flexibility

We are waiting for the ECNL's "flexibility." My bet is they extend their current two trapped 8th graders to play down for all age groups and hopefully increase to 3/4 trapped players per team, including both NL and RL.

I’ve been saying this all along. I would think that ECNL wants you to get your news from your club. I think they will communicate with clubs, before publically communicating. They want you to hear what’s next from your DOC.

With the clubs around here, we will never hear
