Will be in Southern Europe so it will be warm/hot and sunny. Goal is to pack light. I'm thinking of packing only cotton and linen dresses and skirts, cute sneakers, comfy sandals. A cardigan. A denim jacket. Maybe a hat. Will be doing a TON of walking. Also where should I shop for these dresses or skirts.
Also, what is your recommended travel blow dryer? What else am I missing? TIA! |

I used to travel a lot, and rather than packing a travel dryer, I would pick up a small one at a pharmacy or dept store at my destination.
I’m tuning in for other suggestions on clothing bc we are also traveling to somewhere very hot this summer, and I would like some dresses (casual, but look put together). I usually wear Birkenstocks, so I will have those, but may also get something more of a sport sandal for activities. |

Shoes: Keen Rose sandals, your most comfortable sneakers
Dress: eyelet dresses from Jcrew Factory I also like to mix and match skirts and tops to get more outfits. Have a couple of Jcrew cotton skirts with pockets that I love and a couple of favorite tees from Quince. A few pairs of colorful statement earrings, shade and a straw hat and you're done. |

I use the revlon brush blow dryer and went on amazon.fr and purchased one made for EU plugs and had it sent here - it was free to ship here with prime. So worth it!
I wore dresses from Tuckernuck and Jcrew. I often find myself wearing the same 2-3 items. My best find was t strap croc sandals https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/crocs-tulum-flip-flop---womens/541024?activeColor=407&cm_mmc=CSE-_-GPS-_-G_Shopping_Sandals-_-New_Sandals&cadevice=c&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAtt2tBhBDEiwALZuhAIpbo_wNCEs0TfwEPyWti2WGSjkO2IAfXq1wNDQ95762utk6Z9D-XxoCgX8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I hate wearing sneakers with dresses and these were SOOO comfy. I brought my high end sandals for nicer dinners but was so happy with these. |
| I’m not a fan of slide/ thong type sandals in Europe - they’re not comfortable for walking long periods on cobbled streets. I’ve had good luck with Dr Scholl styles with some sort of heel support and a wedge heel. |
| What matters most to me personally for walking a lot on a hot day is having good bike type shorts and a sports bra. Then over that a loose linen or cotton dress. |

I like these linen dresses from Italy:

I feel bike shorts under a dress are for those who have an issue with chafing, correct? Or if the dress is very short. Otherwise this sounds completely miserable - for me personally. |
It’s chafing but also just comfort for me personally with being in crowded urban areas, climbing onto and off buses etc. But definitely not necessary if you don’t like it. I just know I’d stock up for OP’s trip. |
OP here, and I'm the PP who made the comment about chafing. Actually with how you explained why you like to do this it makes total sense. I didn't think about the ick factor related to public transportation and being in crowded urban areas. Thanks for the tip! |

I got these sandals for a Euro trip and they worked well for day or night and looked cute in my pictures

No to all of this. Keens are soooo American. |
Bike shorts are too hot in Southern Europe. Just wear linen pants. |

But…but she’s American. |
