What does your 7-year-old like to watch on TV?

Anonymous
DD7 is having a procedure done on Monday and will be on fairly strict bed rest for 3-5 days. She will be unable to use her hands or arms until she is cleared by surgeon.

We are usually limited or no screen time. She’s seen a few movies but beyond that not much. We need to find some tv shows that will have her reasonable engaged. I don’t really have any preferences for it necessarily being educational. I need it to be age appropriate. I won’t be able to monitor content the entire time.

Her interests; science, space, baking, cooking, animals and (to an extent) robotics.

Her interest in movies seem to be more live action than animated.

Welcome all suggestions. Open to streaming services or any shows we can find on DVD if it’s a hit with your similarly aged kid.

TIA

My kids are older, but I recommend:

PBS Kids
Magic School Bus
old TV shows - Bewitched, Gilligan’s Island, Brady Bunch, Lost in Space (the original 1965 series), The Jetsons, etc.

I think Just Add Magic on Amazon would also be appropriate, but it’s been a while since I’ve watched it. Here’s the IMDB parent’s guide and the Common Sense Media review to check for any concerns you might have.

If your DD loves animals, I highly recommend Wild Kratts.

Other hits here:

Emily’s Wonder Lab
Molly of Denali
Xavier Riddle (good for learning about various historic figures)

Bluey is on Disney+ and is excellent. Once you have Disney plus you can explore alllll the movies. It’s awesome like that.
