Olaplex 3

Is this the one that is controversial or can i safely use this at home? I just tried it for the first time and it does seem to really improve structure but I have also heard horror stories.

Has anyone had experience with Olaplex 3 specifically (without using 1 and 2 which are added to color)? What was it like?

Olaplex is not hazardous. It has protein in it so you can’t use it every day or you’ll cause protein overload but it’s safe to use. Olaplex 3 you’d use maybe once a week anyway - let it soak in for 30-60 minutes before a shower as a deep treatment.

Thanks, this is helpful. Does it have protein in it or just allows less protein loss? I’m a bit confused about protein…

I used it once a week as advised and it killed my hair. Dry, lifeless and terrible ends. Yes to the resident olaplex defender, I even did conditioner treatments to fix and did not work.

I now use this and my hair is in the best shape! I mean to the point where acquaintances are making comments and asking what I’m doing with it.

Do you only use the shampoo?

I use the diamond strong conditioner as well.

My hair likes Olaplex 3, along with their shampoo etc.

It seems like this forum is full of hair shill bots for various products, ie Diamomd Strong.

More like olaplex bots. I don’t know anyone in real life who has had success with that product in the long-term.

I did! (Real person here). I had my hair severely damaged in a coloring disaster and olaplex saved my hair and helped repair it. My hair is now back to its original shine. I did do a salon repair with olaplex first and then used the shampoo/conditioner (approx twice a week for the last couple years).

I did the Olaplex 3 followed by the Redken all soft conditioner yesterday and so far so good. I am tempted to do it weekly but hesitant due to the negative press.

I also have K18 and unfortunately haven’t noticed a big effect.

Would love to hear more experiences.

Did you ever use the Olaplex 3? I heard the shampoo/conditioner, doesn’t have enough of the bond building ingredients to make a difference.

I'm interested too. My stylist used Olaplex on my hair for the first time and it looked amazing. So I picked up sample sizes. Haven't used the 3 yet.
