PTSA Donations

If you donate to your school’s PTSA, how much do you donate? Not just dues but over and above annual dues.

Zero, no accountability or transparency for how the money is spent and they are constantly asking for food and other donations when they bring in a lot of money.

$150/year/student for us. They do a lot for the school, particularly in terms of teacher appreciation.

I’ve been on boards and ran things very differently. I’ve done my time. Still help with former schools.

The PTSA budget is passed at a meeting. Attend and you'll see the proposed budget and even get to vote for or against it

All the great things a school has? It's usually because of the PTSA spending on those things, so not giving only hurts the students

Same, absolutely zero. Very cliquish group also. Will not donate anything.

If more families donated $100 per kid, our schools would be transformed. Particularly our DCC schools which have much weaker, less funded PTAs compared to the W schools.
