Overrated DMV Restaurants

I finally ate at True Food Kitchen in Mosaic (I know it's been there forever, but there are enough places I like at Mosaic that I hadn't eaten there until now). I found it very underwhelming. Especially the menu -- it's really just a bunch of bowls and some pizzas and hamburgers. And there's also the weekend brunch menu, which I ordered from. I ordered the Hawaiian Fried Rice, which isn't rice, it's quinoa, which is fine by me, but the flavor just wasn't there at all. There's the idea that if you are cooking with only high quality ingredients, your food will be good -- but that just isn't necessarily the case. The food we had certainly wasn't bad, it just wasn't all that good either. They also nickel and dime you -- I paid an extra $1 for garlic chili crunch on my friend rice. It should just come with it. My tea was loose leaf, and very good, and DH's lemonade was the real stuff and very good. So beverages were above par. But I was definitely underwhelmed and given the other good choices at Mosaic, won't be going back.

What DMV restaurant underwhelmed you? What places do you think are overrated?

OP here. Sorry, I should have figured there was already a thread!

I think True Food is overrated also. Prices are high for mostly vegetables. Portions are small. I had the butternut squash pie and it was disgusting. Service is nice, that’s about it.

True Food is super gross. Went once in 2021, never again.

Same! It was so bad, and I’m not picky. Founding farmers is also very overrated.
