Anyone catch this tidbit in the latest MCPS Thursday news?

MCPS will be launching a self-service bus app for families this semester

Anyone in the early trials of this and can share any details? Which vendor did they go for etc?

I'm not part of the trial, but I know the board had approved a contract with this bus tracking vendor in May:

Interesting. Not a great first look:

But in vendors like this who aren't really the most "agile" (as it were), not surprising either.

Well, according to Brian Hull's email, they are ending the bus tracking app pilot due to a potential data security vulnerability.

The kind of mistake that Edulog made is absurd. MCPS shouldn't be allowed to even select a vendor that doesn't have ISO 27001 certification and a SOC2 report available.

So did they actually waste a million dollars on a "nice to have" pet project when there aren't enligh special needs teachers to run some classes and then junk it?
