I’m in a high level role, and feel really unmotivated lately. I generally like the job and the people, but just have no motivation or interest. I need to get it back fast or I risk no longer doing a good job. Switching jobs isn’t an option.
Any advice? |
| When was the last time you felt motivated? |
It’s been up and down for the last few years. Last fall was probably the last time I felt somewhat motivated. |
| Ditto, am in the same boat. |
| I left my last job and can’t land a new one. Is it motivating to know that if your performance slips you’ll be out of a job? |
I think part of it is depression, so I’d be grateful for kind answers. |
| Quit. Let someone else have a turn. You only have one life. Don’t waste it chasing status. |
Ask for a demotion. |
What’s your age and net worth? When you don’t need the money anymore, BS jobs lose their inspirationality. |
Get treatment for your depression. Because that was some real talk right there. |
I need the money and am 10 years (at least) from retirement. |

I have definitely been there, OP.
My best advice is to worry about your health (mental and physical) first and trust that the work mojo will follow (it will!!!). Make sure you are: - getting high quality sleep - establishing a good morning routine with some sunlight - getting regular exercise - hydrating - getting good quality food with lots of protein and vegetables - really limit or eliminate alcohol - taking time for yourself each day (this can be as short as 10-15 minutes and can be anything that makes you feel good - a walk at sunrise? a bath at bedtime? a run or yoga class? meeting a friend for coffee or a walk?) In my experience, taking care of myself - and following the routine above - puts me in a good mental space, which in turn lifts my work game. Every single time. |

Adderall
Effexor Wellbutrin Or some combination of the above is what works for me! |
