Op here
Ivy not icy sorry Also looking to hear from parents of recent years |
Which of these has she gotten into? Pit and the others? That’s not a lot of targets honestly and I guess she wants to stay in the DC area Virginia? |
Penn State is also rolling like pit. Has she gotten in there? |
Op here again
Yes only Pitt Rest are ea or mostly rd applications So we haven’t heard back yet |
I’ll be honest, I feel you like you don’t have a good list. She will get into none of the Ivies. She may get into VT. Sounds like she would be disappointed to attend her safeties. Unless she’s happy to attend her targets (GW, Pitt, etc), I would throw in a few other apps. |
No, OP, nobody gets deferred ED and in state from UVA and then gets into an Ivy. Get real.
She will get into several of the other schools on that list, though, at least. |
Her GPA was too low for UVA. I assume she’s not in the top 5%.
I would think those reaches are truly reaches. |
No to Brown, Penn, Georgetown
Rest are reasonable. |
She will have multiple options.
Your list is fine. After admitted students day, I bet she will get excited. 👍 |
Any pointy interests?
Major? |
I don’t think the GPA is the issue. My guess is that the essay and ECs didn’t showcase her values, traits and leadership. The gpa and SAT will get her through the first hoop easily. The next hoop is the essay & ECs and finally fit. As another poster said, she’ll have plenty of options. |
Penn State is a bloodbath this application season. They’ve received 110,000 applications -it’s not really a safety anymore. |
At our FCPS, you need a 4.4 and ED for UVA. |
It is a solid school and I bet they gave her great merit. Approach Penn State as a target instead of a safety. |
