I’m just going to vent here. My dad was in an assisted living facility having a fine time and had to go to the hospital for some that they fixed. He got Covid there, is extremely weak, can’t breathe, and now might die. I’m so frustrated. |
Honestly this is so common. The hospitals are filled with people who have Covid and everyone knows hospitals are high risk spaces for Covid and any other contagious illness. I hope he recovers and I’m sorry for your need to worry. |
Hospitals are full of germs, all kinds. Everyone knows that. Hope he gets better soon. |
Did he wear a good mask the whole time? I find hospitals are surprisingly lax about this. We need to remind our parents and supply them with high-grade masks, if necessary. |
I’m so sorry. I hope he recovers. |
I'm more concerned about MRSA in a hospital. |
If an elderly person must spend one or more nights in the hospital, how can they realistically wear a mask the whole time? |
It's a well-known fact, OP, that hospital are germ fests. I'm very sorry about your father. Is he on Paxlovid?
|
Elderly relative was taken to the ER and awaiting admittance today — for heart related breathing problems. No way they could wear a mask. Hope for the best be prepared for the worst. |
Hugs. |
Hospitals are filthy and covid spread there is insane.
Mask up! |
My MIL got Covid twice at her assisted living complex. This strain is highly contagious and mostpeople are not masking, isolating appropriately or keeping their distance in enclosed spaces. I’m sorry about your dad, OP. Mine caught a fatal respiratory infection in the hospital. |
I see a lot of hospital staff not masking around patients. |
The staff and visitors should be masking. Many patients cannot mask. |
+1 I'm sorry, OP. My elderly father just had COVID and, honestly, seems to have deteriorated a great deal since then (physically and mentally). People who are angry about restrictions feel that elderly people are expendable, and that hurts, as does the fear of losing a loved one. |
