Going to a high end cocktail party this Saturday night - guests in the 50s-60s range - and not feeling it for sundry reasons. I have these pants - https://shorturl.at/jpxST - but what should I do for top and shoes? I have some brogues that might work - will probably be on my feet for most of the evening so thinking flat-ish.
Appreciate any and all suggestions. It was a hard year so trying to kick it up as much as I can in the new one. |

oh those are great pants. how about a waist-length black sweater - i’m picturing almost but not quite cropped, a nice thick knit, maybe short sleeves?
i think brogues are good. i’d wear some clogs but i always wear clogs. |
| Those are jeans? I am confused |
vegan leather |
okay |

lovely, but not for this event. |
that's helpful - ty! |
| I think you should wear a dress. |
| The weather isn’t looking great for Saturday night. Not sure if that will affect your planned attire. |
| I agree that you should wear a dress given your description of the event. |
That's one of the reasons I am passing on a dress, but not the only one. I just know most women will not be wearing dresses and I want to be comfortable, so pants. |
It's high end, but not gala high end - someone's home, UES elite. A few women will be in midi dresses and silk slip skirts but most will opt for dress pants, leather, etc. Pants, probably brogues, now ISO suggestions for a top. Like the cropped sweater idea, but welcome more. |
