| Has anybody noticed lots of hate for Nissan Altimas? I hear it pretty often and don’t get it. I know they aren’t the flashiest cars, but for a mid-size sedan, that’s affordable, they don’t look too bad to me. |
| sounds like confirmation bias to me. Do you own one? |
|
They seem to last a while. So the trope is that “trashy” people who can only buy old cars drive them and drive like azholes.
Dumb. We all know there’s no shortage of rich dipshits on the roads. |
| Altimas always have fake paper plates and are driven like crap. |
|
| Yeah, that’s unsubtle racism/classism. Altimas are affordable, comfortable, and dependable. I had two when I was younger and less well-off! They never let me down. |
Mine is 14 years old and going strong. Don’t care if anyone thinks it’s trashy - it’s long paid off and I am 100 percent certain no one will ever try to steal it. |
| I had two. Both were a piece of trash. Constantly something wrong. |
OP, here. No I don’t have one, just curious because I hear people always making fun of them. My cars are probably even less sexy than an Altima- Forester and Civic. |
| I own a Altima and have had it for 3 years without any problems. |
|
It’s not so much Altima’s as it is Altima drivers. Same thing with Dodge Chargers.
Nothing wrong with the cars. The problem is many of the people who are drawn to these two models. |
What is the rap on Altima drivers? |
They are mostly “Maryland drivers”, as DCUM defines Maryland drivers. |
| Because they drive like azzholes. They’re basically the bmw drivers of poor people. |
Personally I think leasing cars and turning them in every couple of years for a newer model is far “trashier,” though I don’t really use that word. |
