Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| This is the first year Pyle hasn’t been rated as five stars. It’s one of the only schools in Montgomery county that always did. What’s changed? Leadership? Demographics? Parents? |
The school is the same. Just a victim of Dr. McKnight’s horrendous tenure at the helm. |
| Management. |
Could you be more specific? What policies did McKnight push that harm Pyle specifically? |
The rating system. |
|
New metrics for the whole state. Different baseline.

| There’s already a long thread on this. |
Right. Most schools in Maryland dropped due to a change in the ranking system. Pyle is the same school today that it was a year ago, for better and for worse. |
| Leadership of the school. Weak. |
Not really. It’s been trending downward for a bit now and this just further reinforces the slide. The MCPS fans on here will chalk it up to methodology or whatever else will detract from the actual issues in our schools. |
| Still a strong school. It's the holiday season: get a grip. |
