Ozempic weight loss, how fast?

Anonymous
How fast are you seeing weight loss if you are ozempic? Are we talking 10 pounds in one month or 10 pounds in three months? I’d love to hear your firsthand experiences.

I’m losing slowly on wegovy. Been on it since sept and have lost 8 lbs. I’m 5’8”. Started at 185 now at 177. I’m doing two months at each dose so only on 1.0 now.

I’ve lost 30 pounds in 6 months. Would have been a lot faster if I’d have cleaned up my diet (less sugar, no alcohol). Instead I just cut back portions.

I lost 30 pounds in 4 months. I didn't start seeing the weight come off until I hit a 1 mg dose.

It had almost no effect on me at 0.25 mg. I had a normal appetite by day 3 after my shot. That stretched to day 5 once I went up to 0.5 mg.

I lost 15 lbs in 4 months by changing my diet. That's what my doctor wanted to see before she would prescribe Ozempic. So my total weight loss for 2023 is 45 lbs.

month 1/0.25 mg - 4 lbs
month 2/0.25 then 0.5 mg - 6 lbs
month 3/0.5 mg - 9 lbs
month 4/0.5 mg - 11 lbs

3 or 4 lbs a month, for me. I felt a difference immediately at the lowest dose. My diet was already pretty clean except for sugar, so eating less of that and smaller portions.

Me again. I’ve had no negative side effects thankfully. I’ve had very little desire to drink. I don’t wake up hungry so usually skip breakfast. I eat lunch and dinner but definitely eat a lot less at dinner. I drink a lot of water. I don’t think about food nearly as much as I used to. I never thought I’d want to take something like this, but I’ve had a good experience even though I'm losing slowly.

I've lost 29 pounds in 10 months. I'm honestly happy with the slow progress. It feels more natural.

None of the months you listed included 1mg doses.

I've been on Wegovy since April and lost 40 lbs. But before I got on, I was working out a *lot* and still somehow gaining at least 3lbs/month, no matter what. So I don't consider this slow loss so much as a life-saving turnaround. The worst part was the exhaustion at first, but I've got a handle on my side effects now.

Plus, my blood pressure dropped from dangerously high to "wow, that's great" from every tech, so win-win.

Yes. It is fast. Semi-G is known to "melt" the fat away.

You have to stop trying to make fetch happen. It's getting painful to watch.

I have fatigue too - what did you do to combat it?

B12 (I just take a pill, not the shots), lots more water, and get outside in the sun more, especially the two days after the shot.

Ironically I lost 55 pounds before going on it (I got a diabetes diagnosis and that kicked my ass in gear about diet and exercise). Then my endocrinologist put me on it and I am now on 2 mg and have actually GAINED five lbs of the 55 I lost back.

I’ve lost about 2-3 lbs a week since starting. I’m down almost 20 lbs. I have never been able to lose weight like this in my entire life. It feels like a miracle drug. (It works because I’m eating a lot less - my appetite is nearly eviscerated.)
